Global Education Assessment Tools
Educators know the importance of measuring what students learn. There are a variety of assessments available to help gauge their global competence. In addition to assessing student learning, teachers may also choose to assess their own global competence. Here are a few global education assessment tools that could be used in our learning communities:
For Teachers
The Globally Competent Learning Continuum is a tool that teachers can use before they assess students. Teachers can measure their own levels of global competence. This assessment gives individuals an opportunity to identify very detailed areas of strengths and weaknesses.

The Iowa State University has developed the Global Perspective Inventory (GPI). This web-based tool can be used to assess three dimensions of global learning: cognitive, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. GPI helps individuals understand how personal experiences influence global learning. It is a great tool for those seeking to improve their overall intercultural competence.
